I love my home!

It is a beautiful sunny day outside and the sun is streaming in on this unusually warm January day. The sunlight gives such a lovely glow to my home and I just had to pick up the camera and start taking pictures. A dear friend Jann suggested that when taking photos it is best to do so without the flash. So I gave that a try today and was very pleased with the results.

One of the reasons I love my home so much is that my husband and I have worked hard to give it a warm and welcoming feeling. I have used warm golds, browns and reds to convey a spirit of love and friendship. My family room and living room are two of my favorite rooms in my home. Neither room has a T.V. and that was a conscious decision on my part. I wanted these rooms to be a place for interaction and reflection but not "couch potato" T.V. viewing (we have other rooms for that). So these rooms are for relaxing, board games, conversation and reading. Both rooms have wonderful vintage finds (another hobby of mine when I am not scrappin') that make me feel a sense of heritage and affection.

I think everybody should have a place in their home that makes them feel happy. A place they can find respite and peace. A place they can connect with their family. What are your favorite rooms in your home and why?

Your home is very pretty! those bowling pins made me giggle... we have some big bowling pins from my mom (she's a manager at a bowling center/theater) thinking we might modify my ds' 4 bed posts... never got around to that project, but still have the pins. thanks for sharing your home!
we recently bought a new dining table/chairs set... and I love sitting around it for our meals and just looking at each other. makes my heart happy!

You've done a fabulous job decorating and making your home seem warm and appealing. Love the colors, and the way you have just the right amount of "clutter" to make it seem lived in, but not suffocating.

I love the colors - I always say this - its really funny how I can make pages and really cute cards but when it comes to decorating my home - its just not happening LOL

Your home is very pretty! It's great to have a place just to talk and play. I love my dinning room because of the windows. It has old stain glass windows that lets a beautiful yellow light indoors. (when the sunshines) We eat dinner there everynight and it's also my scrap space.

you do have such a gorgeous home. I like taking pictures without the flash too, especially when there is enough filtering sunlight, it gives it such a nice warm feeling to the picture. I love the pics you took...very awesome job.

Your home is Beeee-Utifual and a lovely reflection of you! I think the vintage is perfect because it symbolizes your respect for and attendance to those this "past." And yet -- you make your home comfortable -- so that the most important thing -- relationship -- can have the greatest chance of flourishing. Good woman...that is what you are@
